Notorious, one of Hitchcock’s most darkly romantic, disturbing and suspenseful thrillers is back on the big screen this summer in a dazzling new 4K restoration released by the BFI. The virtuoso sequences—the long kiss, the crane shot into the door key—are justly famous, yet the film's real brilliance is in its subtle and detailed portrayal of infinitely perverse relationships.
