Bread, Love and Dreams (Comencini, 1953): BFI Southbank, NFT1, 1.45pm
This film is part of the 'Cinema Made in Italy' season. Full details here.
Made in Italy introduction:
Our archive screening celebrates one of Luigi Comencini’s greatest early
films. A wonderful, classic comedy, it details the improbable
flirtations of a police chief (an irrepressible Vittorio De Sica) with a
midwife and a wayward young woman in a small country village. The film
also features a standout performance by Gina Lollobrigida.
Here (and above) is the trailer.
